Meet Boston, a 4-year-old Silver Lab with 120 pounds of love to give and one of the sweetest, gentlest souls you will ever meet.

Boston has not had the easiest start in life, but you would not know it from his wonderful personality. He is calm, quiet, incredibly affectionate, and happiest simply being near his people. He is exceptionally gentle with little ones, and his easygoing nature makes him a wonderful companion for a more relaxed household.

Boston is blind in his right eye and has limited vision in his left. His ophthalmologist believes juvenile cataracts are likely responsible, and unfortunately, his condition progressed before coming to Lucky Lab to a point where surgery can no longer restore his vision.

But Boston doesn’t let that slow him down! Once he learns the layout of a home, he navigates with impressive ease. On walks, he simply needs a little guidance from his person to steer around obstacles.

Boston will require daily prescription eye drops and quarterly ophthalmology checkups to monitor his eye pressure and keep him comfortable.

He also came to us with significant skin issues, but it is clearing up beautifully with a proper diet, medication, and medicated baths. His future family should be prepared for some ongoing maintenance to keep him feeling his best.

What Boston needs most is simply a family who will love him exactly as he is. He may not be able to see you perfectly, but he will learn your voice, your footsteps, the layout of your home, and exactly where his favorite napping spot is. We have a feeling he will have no trouble finding his way to the people he loves.

Because Boston is a big handsome boy with limited vision, a securely fenced yard in his forever home would be best to give him a safe place to explore.

Boston is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on preventatives.
