Jake is a bit of a miracle dog. This poor guy was hit by a car and ended up in a high kill shelter. The shelter actually took pity on him (we think it was due to his charm and good looks) and did emergency surgery on him. Sadly one of his leg's was so damaged they had to amputate it. But that does not stop Jake!

He's what we often call a "tri pod" dog and he's fully functional after losing that bad wheel! Now Jake needs a home of his own!

He's been living with a wonderful, loving foster family and they say he is meant to live a long and happy life with someone who is willing to commit a lifetime of love and companionship to him.

Jake is about 6-7 years old and weighs about 58lbs.

Jake is a sweet natured boy. He loves car rides and watches the world pass by with great enthusiasm. He enjoys taking short brisk walks and likes to take in his surroundings.

He knows short commands with some prompting and is a work in progress; however, he is potty trained and gets along well with other dogs. Cats and squirrels however, welllllll, not so much for Jake, these small furry creatures are not on his list of likes. :)

Since he’s been in foster care, Jake has only barked twice. When he wants to go outside to use the potty, Jake will do a little dance and wiggle for you. He likes everyone he meets and has yet to meet a stranger. He is good with kids too.

Who wants to adopt this incredible boy?
