Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Josie.

Josie is a 3-1/2 year old female black (with brown highlights) Lab. She has a white chest and paws. She weighs about 65 lbs.

She can be a little shy at first, but is very friendly to people (children and adults) after introduction. She does bark at strangers at the door or walking, but warms up quickly once introduced. She is also good with other dogs and cats after introduction.

She loves going for walks and walks well on her leash. She does bark and tug a little when she sees other animals, but does settle down quickly. She takes her food and treats very gently. She knows sit, lie down and come.....and LOVES belly rubs.

Josie leg was broken at one point before Lucky Lab saved her and she has a bad hip. She has a little stiffness when she first gets moving, but once it loosens up, she doesn't let it hold her back.

She has been evaluated by three different vets and we've been advised to leave her leg alone. Surgery is not guaranteed to fix it, and it may cause her more problems if we attempt to fix it. She would probably benefit from some joint supplements.

She is not particularly fond of bad weather and just wants to be in the same room as her people when it rolls through. Her foster says she is literally the best foster dog they've ever had!

Josie is housetrained and crate trained, but no crate is needed as she is totally trustworthy in the house. She is up to date on routine vaccinations and spayed.
