Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption
We are dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in the Midwest, Tennessee and Texas. We’ve also saved dogs from the South Korean meat trade. Since 2008, we’ve saved and found loving homes for thousands of dogs. We have the best supporters and volunteers, and aim to find the best adopters.
Whenever we get new Labs, they are immediately vetted with vaccinations, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and wormed for internal parasites— receiving complete veterinary care before they are adopted. In addition, each dog is temperament tested since our goal is to place our Labs in forever homes. It’s important to know the general personality, as we want to match potential adopters with dogs that would be the most successful fit.
Our rescue focuses on Labs and Lab mixes, but we aren’t picky. If we come across a great dog in need, we save them!
Why labs & lab mixes?
Because Labs — amongst other breeds — are more often euthanized at shelters! It’s hard to imagine, but sometimes people adopt a cute lab puppy and when the dog displays “lab energy”, it gets turned into a shelter. Most labs that come to Lucky Lab Rescue were most at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded shelters.
The most popular color of Labs are the yellow and chocolate and tend to get adopted more often than black labs. Some shelters will automatically euthanize black labs and some rescue organizations will accept the yellow and chocolate over the black lab. We at Lucky Labs love our yellows and chocolates, but also feel very committed to rescuing black Labs due to their plight, as they are often overlooked in favor of lighter-colored dogs.
What we need.
FOSTERS and VOLUNTEERS: We need fosters and volunteers mainly in Indiana and Texas. Volunteers offer to give dogs rides, help bring them to vet appointments or adoption events.
Without fosters we can’t save dogs. Fosters give dogs food, water, shelter and love. We pay for vet bills and any costs you incur, (food, toys, etc.) are tax deductible since we are a 501c3 organization.
DONATIONS: Adopters pay adoption fees which cover some of costs, but not all. 100% of your donations goes straight to the dogs, which helps pay for spaying, neutering, vaccinations, heartworm tests, heartworm treatments, microchipping and sometimes emergency surgery. To make a donation, please visit the DONATE tab located above.
Dogs rescued in the Midwest can be adopted in the Midwest and New England. Dogs rescued in Texas can be adopted in Texas and New England.
